Some useful links I’ve come across during my Raspberry Pi tinkering:
- LED Matrix Code
The Raspberry Pi has a five minute timeout on ssh connections, or when it loses its
WI-FI connection, it won’t re-acquire that connection. Whatever the cause of the
dropped connection, it means you won’t be able to reconnect remotely to fix the
problem. So what does one do to keep that connection alive? You use a network
manager as described here.
To keep the WIFI from dropping out after short bits of inactivity, I simply added the line
wireless-power offto the end of the file
/etc/network/interfaces. It may have needed some of the other modifications
I had previously made to that file, however. But it’s working for me.
